National Archeological Museum
Museo Archeologico: interno

Housed in the rooms of Palazzo Ferretti, the Museum offers documents on successive civilisations in the Marche from the Palaeolithic to the Early Middle Ages; the Primive History section, the greatest attraction of the Museum, is divided into twenty three rooms relating to the Picenes civilisation and the Gallic civilisation, with numerous funeral outfits of occasional great richness. It is one of the most famous Archaeological Museums in Italy, built with the archaeological findings which emerged from excavation carried out in the Marches. Many of the objects on show are evidence of the daily lives of these civilisations, such as the women's ornaments, the vases, the weapons and the tools.

Palazzo Ferretti is an extremely beautyful example of 16th Century architecture, it was extended in the 18th century: the noble floor of the building features famous frescoes by Pellegrino Tibaldi and the façade layout is the work of Vanvitelli.
